New Track From Charlie North

Added to the playlist today is a great new track from BHR favourite Charlie North.

Chinese Whispers was written by Charlie and remixed by Michael E, another great artist you hear on BHR.

"Both Michael and I are very proud of this track and think it fits in perfectly with the Beach House playlist." says Charlie, "it's great to have you guys back as well".

It is with the help and support of great artists like Charlie that Beach House Radio has been able to keep broadcasting and their dedication to great music is what continues to drive us to make the best Chillout music station we can.

Chinese Whispers has now been added to our playlist - Listen Live to BHR

If you haven't done so already, you can check out some of Charlie's great video's on our You Tube channel - BeachHouseTV

Final note - we have added a few (only a few mind) more streams, so hopefully you can get listening a little easier now. Thanks as always to Objekts.co.uk

Our full playlist will soon be availble via the website and blog pages. More great tracks and news next week from BHR favourite Catya Mare.

Artist of the Month - March 09 - Lemonchill

Okay, first artist of the month since our return. Lemonchill.

Great track now added to the playlist - En Larmes - check it out.

Meanwhile, here's what Lemonchill had to say to BHR:

"I grew up while listening to music all my life (all kinds of music:
60, 70, 80, jazz, electronic, industrial, gothic, synthpop, ambient, chill out, lounge, trance and more). In 2005 I finished my studies at BPM music college where I learned everything I know today. Since then for two years I have been making and creating music.

Now I am trying to combine all of these great music styles to one group in my album "SENTANT". It is a mixture of all those music styles. My album "SENTANT” (feeling in French) took me over one year to finish. It is very intense and personal, after a very painful relationship I went through. I guess this whole album is like a therapy for me to "let out" everything I had in my heart through music. The girl that was the "muse and inspiration" for this album will remain a mystery for now. I think everyone that heard my music can hear the emotions and feelings floating in my music as I wrote in the headlines: this music is for your heart and soul.
enjoy...."

Now playing - Beach House Radio

We're Getting There

Wednesday 25th Feb saw more new tracks added to the playlist. All tracks playing out at 128kbps. I have to say, listening to the stream myself, the quality is great. Anything over 128kbps causes some streaming problems for people listening via mobile internet or over an older wireless network.

Anyway, more tracks will be added over the next couple of weeks plus we will have our first new artist of the week next Wednesday.

Just a quick thanks for all the messages of support you have been sending us, we appreciate every one. YOU are the reason we needed to get BHR back up and running so quickly.

Hopefully we can add a few more streams as we get into the Spring.

Finally, we have entered the world of Twitter - BHR, always keen to jump on the bandwagon! Not sure how interesting it will be as we don't live crazily exciting lives. Anyway, check it out from the website if you desparately need to know if we are having a coffee or walking the dog!

Later.

Hey guys, we're back!

After a few long months of crying into our beer about our sad demise, we've got our act together and BHR is back on air.

Okay, so pro's and cons - for now, streams are extremely limited. As you may know, after our original broadcast was listed in the iTunes directory, we could not cope with the amount of listeners. So for now, we hope you can log onto the stream but if you can't, be patient. Oddly, I would ask for you not to pass our details on for the time being as I am sure we will be pretty full up with previous listeners.

Another con (for the time being) is that the playlist will be pretty basic until we get time to play around with it some more and fix the bugs and tweaks, so please bear with us.

Finally the pros (well pro actually, there's only one!) - we are now broadcasting in superb 128kbps quality. For non techies, this means you can listen to our station in superb quality.

Anyway, we're gonna be pretty busy over the coming weeks but as usual, get in touch with any comments or questions.

Nice to be back.

Off The Air - Back Soon....

Okay, so it has taken some time to update the BHR Blogger blog with what's going on. If you have come from the main site, you will have read our story. Rather than repeat it here, pop along to www.beachhouseradio.com and have a read.

To cut a long story short and looking to the future, we hope to be back broadcasting before the end of the year with very limited streams.

We would like to take time to thank all of our listeners and a special mention goes to online design boutique Objekts (www.objekts.co.uk) for all their help so far.

Bye Bye Beach House

After just over 2 years of broadcasting, Beach House Radio will cease broadcasting at the end of October.

The sad reason behind throwing 2 years of hard work in the bin is that we have done too well. The recent inclusion in iTunes radio directory has led for unprecidented demand for our streams. Unfortunately, it costs a sackfull of money to add extra bandwidth.

We hoped, through the help of sponsors and advertisers, we could bring you our station for years to come. However, it seems the companies out there do not share our view and we have been unable to raise funds.

I and the other 2 partners have run out of money and we just can't afford to pump any more into it.

This decision has only just been taken, so things are a little "up in the air" at the moment. We'll report back in the blog when the decision sink in.

In all, a sad day for us - our dream is over.
